Tony Mainolfi

WESH 2 chief meteorologist Tony Mainolfi joined the WESH 2 Weather Plus team in May 2005.

Mainolfi can be seen each day at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. He also contributes his weather expertise to the station's 24-hour weather network, WESH 2 Weather Plus.

Mainolfi most recently worked at WCHS-TV in Charleston, W.Va., as chief meteorologist for nine years. He also worked for several years at The Weather Channel in Atlanta.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work for a television station that places such a high priority on weather," said Mainolfi. "It takes a huge commitment of resources to provide a local 24-hour weather network in addition to the regular forecasts delivered on WESH 2. It's that stationwide commitment to preparing and protecting viewers that I found most appealing in this job. Of course, the station's commitment to the best technology available was also a huge selling point."

Over the period of his career, Mainolfi has been nominated for four Emmys. He holds seals of approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
