While many Central Floridians may enjoy watching a shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center, getting to the Brevard County coast can be a traffic nightmare, especially along state Road 528, also known as the Beachline.About 100,000 people head to the coast to witness a shuttle launch and most choose to travel on the Beachline. Our shortcut may add miles to the drive, but drivers will get to the coast and close to some of the best places to watch a launch.Drivers should take state Road 46 eastbound from Sanford all the way to U.S. Highway 1 in Brevard. Take U.S. 1 south to county Road 405 in Titusville and then set up to view the launch along the river. With a night launch just around the corner in December, and four launches scheduled for 2007, Central Floridians will definitely need this shortcut.
