The unique service provides callers with timely information and services on a variety of topics, including the latest weather from WESH's Live Super Doppler 2 Storm Center, local news, gardening tips and legal information.

"More than 7,000 viewers used this new service in the first three months of 2001, and it is definitely expected to grow dramatically as more people discover the unlimited features and advantages this service has to offer," said Bill Bauman, general manager of WESH NewsChannel 2.

When callers dial the hotline and make a selection from the menu of available topics, they are transferred to a specific extension that is dedicated exclusively to the topic and is presented by a featured sponsor.

They hear a series of prerecorded tips and information, after which they can usually transfer directly to a representative of the sponsor for additional information on the topic.

Other information available on the 2 In Touch information line includes soap opera updates, daily horoscopes, sports and movie trivia, and a whole lot more.

Financial information, provided by MarketPlace Bank, and local real estate information and listings is also presented.

To find out about YMCA programs in youth sports, after-school programs, health and wellness, finacial assistance and volunteer opportunities, press 9622 and choose from the menu of options.
