Greg Fox
News Reporter
Greg Fox has been a news reporter and anchor at WESH-TV since 1987.In 1992, he became the news anchor for the debut of the station's weekend morning and noon newscasts and served in that role until 1998. He covers government in Orlando and Orange County but has covered politics for WESH since 1988, reporting from national political conventions and from the inaugurations of Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.Greg was named the 2007 winner of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence In Televsion Journalism by the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communication for his coverage of the 2006 election cycle.
He also won an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Suncoast Chapter. The award recognized Greg's coverage of the harsh economic and political conditions in Cuba during WESH's coverage of Pope John Paul II's visit there in 1998.When Greg isn't reporting news, he's teaching. He's been an adjunct professor since 1997 and is currently teaching media relations at Rollins College. He previously taught broadcast journalism at the University of Central Florida.Civic involvement is also important to Greg. He's served as a past president of the Central Florida Press Club. He is a member of the Community Advisory Council of the Goldenrule Foundation and an honorary chairman of the Seminole Christian Sharing Center.Greg is also a founding board member of Annunciation Catholic Academy in Altamonte Springs, where his three sons have attended school. His wife, Mary Ann, is a teacher at the academy. He has also been a leader in the Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America since his sons began scouting in 1998.Greg was born in Absecon, N.J., and graduated from High Point University in North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in journalism and English.When he has some spare time, Greg enjoys golf, tennis, fishing and -- most of all -- spending time with his family.
