Eryka Washington joined WESH 2 News in November 2003.Eryka grew up in Mt. Laurel, N.J., and began her on-air television career as weekend anchor and reporter at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City, N.J.
Eryka then headed further north to Rochester, N.Y., working as weekend anchor and reporter at WHEC-TV.Following one of the city's worst blizzards, Eryka left the snowy tundrum and took a job in Philadelphia at the WB 10 O'Clock News before heading to Orlando.Eryka began her career at WESH as a reporter and was promoted to weekend anchor. She launched a brand new morning show on CW18 in January of 2007.Eryka currently anchors the WESH 2 News on CW18 morning show from 7 to 9 a.m. She also created a segment for the show called, Friday's Furrie Friend, which highlights a different animal every week in need of adoption. You can also find her anchoring and reporting on WESH 2 News.Eryka holds a bachelors degree in Communications and Journalism Mass Media from Douglas College, Rutgers University.When Eryka is not busy talking to kids as a role model, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her Shih Tzu, Sade.Eryka is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club, a member of the YMCA Community Relations Committee, and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
