Tim Trudell started reporting for WESH in August 2008. He's new to Central Florida and is excited about the opportunity to experience everything it has to offer. He loves telling stories and his goal is to make them both informative and interesting. His favorite stories are simply about people. He likes characters who can make just about any subject enjoyable to watch.

He comes here from Richmond, Va. Tim spent about six years at WTVR-TV telling stories on just about everything. There he covered the Beltway sniper shootings, Hurricane Isabel, flew with the Air Force in fighter jets, served as a state's witness to an electrocution death penalty, researched the 400 year history of Jamestown and reported one of the most difficult stories of his career: The deaths of 32 students at Virginia Tech in April 2007. During those six years, he was a part of three Edward R. Murrow awards and also received honors from the Associated Press and the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.

Prior to WTVR, Tim spent two years reporting for WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Ala. It was during this time he won over his competition -- That's where he met his wife who, at that time, was reporting for another TV station. He began his career in Indianapolis where he completed two internships and got a chance to write some stories while out on assignments with those he calls the best instructors out there -- the photographers.

Tim graduated from Indiana University in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism. Besides reporting, he loves to work out, run, bike, hike and do about all of the outdoor stuff that Florida makes so easy year-round (as long as you don't mind getting a little wet from the surprise storms in the summer).
