ORLANDO, Fla. -- WESH 2 announced on Wednesday that Malachi Rodgers will join the WESH 2 Weather Plus team as weekend evening meteorologist on Oct. 29.

With the addition of Rodgers, WESH 2 features the area’s largest team of broadcast meteorologists.

According to Barbara Maushard, WESH 2 News Director, “Malachi is a terrific communicator with years of forecasting experience in two states also known for severe weather and hurricanes: North and South Carolina. His style, energy and experience are a perfect addition to our aggressive, ‘big story’ approach to covering Florida weather.”

Rodgers joins WESH 2 from WCCB-TV in Charlotte, N.C., where he has worked as morning meteorologist since January of 2006.

Prior to Charlotte, he worked as a weather anchor at WACH-TV and sister-station WIS-TV in Columbia, S.C.
