Aixa Diaz anchors WESH 2 News Sunrise on weekend mornings. She joined the station in July 2007.

Previously, Aixa worked for two years as an anchor and reporter at WESH 2's sister station, WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Aixa was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but grew up in Raleigh, N.C. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in communications. She also studied at Boston University, where she earned a master's degree in broadcast journalism.

While in Boston, Aixa reported for the cable news program Neighborhood Network News and interned at Hearst Argyle's flagship station WCVB-TV.

Aixa is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

In her spare time, Aixa enjoys cycling, traveling, shopping and trying new restaurants.
