Starting on Monday, a new game will promise free gas for life.
The headline-grabbing prizes include free gas for a year or the prize that has a lot of people we talked to ready to play the lottery again -- free gas for life.
As of last week, consumers can buy lottery tickets at Kmart, and shoppers there said the idea of winning gas for life is a blue light special dream come true.
"I would definitely try that. My wife's been playing lotto for years, but she's never really won much," Nemsy Gabatan, who plans to play, said.
Others who just don't like the lotto said free gas doesn't fire their engines.
"I don't believe in the lotto. I don't think we'd do it," one nonbeliever said.
Shawn Evans said he’s ready to take a chance.
"I'd still pay if gas prices weren't high. It’s something worth trying," Evans said.
"Sounds like a pretty good idea. I would buy a ticket," another supporter said.
Others like Rose Lejiste said the free gas gimmick is just putting a new spin on an old game of pretty slim chances.
"If you win $30 million, wouldn’t it be the same thing?" Lejiste said.
The lottery won't be backing up a gas tanker to the winner's houses. They'll be paid off in $100 gas cards.
The first drawing comes early next month.
