Fees Reduced For Booted Cars
The city is moving forward with a plan to crack down on the controversial practice of booting cars in downtown Orlando.The devices disable cars parked illegally. The Orlando City Council passed a booting ordinance Monday.Commissioners limited the fee towing companies can charge to remove the devices to $35 on Monday.
The fee will be reduced to $17 if a motorist arrives before the boot is fully installed.Companies will also be required to report to the police when cars are booted and what was charged.
