Freight Train Derails In Martin County

INDIANTOWN, Fla. -- A freight train carrying ammonia collided with a dump truck Wednesday in Martin County.
The truck driver was seriously injured, and seven cars are off the tracks, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
The derailment also caused delays to Amtrak service north and south of the wreck near Highway 710 in Indiantown, and parts of the highway were closed, officials said.
Police urged motorists to use Interstate 95 as an alternate route.
The driver of the truck was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, reports indicated.
A hazmat crew was called to the scene to deal with the ammonia aboard the train.
Indiantown is 33 miles northwest of West Palm Beach.
