I-95 Reopens After Fatal Crash
Car Crosses Median, Strikes Pickup

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- The southbound lanes of Interstate 95 reopened in Brevard County Thursday morning after a fatal crash.
The crash happened one-half mile south of Melbourne and was reported at 6:15 a.m. Southbound traffic was diverted off I-95 at Wickham Road until just before 9 a.m.Investigators said a Ford Mustang was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crossed the median. The car hit a southbound pickup truck and overturned.The truck driver was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was listed in stable condition.The accident also has caused a slowdown on the northbound lanes of I-95 near the crash.The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
