Police Arrest Woman Accused Of Taking Baby

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Police have arrested the woman accused of disappearing with a 9-month-old baby Sunday.The baby, who had been missing for more than a day, was returned home safely Wednesday morning.
Tamaira Williams, 9 months, turned up early Wednesday morning at her aunt's apartment in a taxi, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.On Wednesday afternoon, police arrested Shanteron Stanley, who goes by the name of "Shay," in Maxwell Terrace. She is being questioned at the Orlando Police Department.Orlando police had been searching for Tamaira since Monday. Both of her parents are in jail, and the child had been shuffled from relative to relative.The baby's aunt handed her to Stanley, a casual acquaintance, Sunday, and the baby and the acquaintance both vanished. After spending two days with Tamaria, Stanley's grandmother told her to return the baby to her family.Authories said this is not the first time Stanley had taken a friend's child without permission.Police also want to talk to a man named Darius, who showed up with the baby Wednesday morning. It's not clear whether he was the cab driver or if he was a passenger.
