POSTED: 2:27 pm EDT September 17, 2003

Actor Colin Farrell can add the title of dad to his resume.

Colin Farrell His girlfriend, model Kim Bordenave, gave birth to a boy in a hospital Friday in Los Angeles. Farrell, however, missed out on the blessed event because he was on a movie set in Morocco filming "Alexander."

"Although Colin couldn't attend the birth, he had family members standing in and is longing to see his new son and couldn't be happier," said Farrell's publicist, Susan Patricola.

Patricola added that "The three will be together very soon," and that's when they'll decide on a name for their son.

Farrell has starred in several films over the past year, including "The Recruit" with Al Pacino, "Daredevil" with Ben Affleck and "S.W.A.T." with Samuel L. Jackson.

He also played the lead in the psychological thriller "Phone Booth" earlier this year.
