Sting, Samoa Joe Scrap For TNA Belt

Listen up!

Class is in session.

Total Nonstop Action wrestling put on its biggest show of the year this past Sunday night, as "Bound For Glory" pitted Sting against Samoa Joe in the main event. Who won? More on that match in a bit, but first, the rest of my perfect predictions and the rousing results!

TNA Tag Team Title Match: Beer Money (c) vs. Abyss and Matt Morgan vs. Team 3D vs. LAX
What Should Happen: This is a "Monster's Ball" match, with no real rules. Morgan is the up-and-coming superstar in this bout, and will should lead his team to victory.

Podcast: 'Old School, New School' -- Episode 88

What Will Happen: I'm picking Morgan and Abyss in an upset.

WhatDid Happen:No upset. Beer Money, James Storm and Robert Roode, retained their belts.

Triple-Threat Match: A.J. Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. Booker T.
What Should Happen: Here are three guys who didn't have much to do in this PPV, so Jim Cornette threw 'em together in a match at the last minute. That's OK with me, though. This should be highly entertaining. Give the win to Cage. He needs to be in a championship program with Samoa Joe.

What Will Happen: I'll go with Cage to win.

WhatDid Happen: Booker pinned Cage to get the win.

X-Division Title Match: Abdul Bashir (c) vs. Consequences Creed
What Should Happen: This division seemed like it was much tougher a year or so ago. Not so much anymore, as I have a hard time keeping up with the players. Who should win? Have to stay with the champ, Bashir.

What Will Happen: Bet the rest of your 401K on Bashir.

WhatDid Happen: Bashir, the man also known as Daivari, won the bout to keep the X-strap.

TNA Women's Title Match: Taylor Wilde (c) vs. Awesome Kong vs. Roxxi
What Should Happen: TNA's lady grapplers are light years better than WWE's, without a doubt. They know what they're doing in the ring most of the time. Of these three, Kong is clearly the best. She should win her belt back.

What Will Happen: I'll pick Kong here.

WhatDid Happen: Wilde pinned Roxxi to keep her TNA title.

Challenge Match: Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett
What Should Happen: It's Jarrett's first PPV in quite some time, as he returns to the ring following the death of his real-life wife. For my money, however, Angle is still the star of this show and needs to stay in the top tier. Mick Foley is the guest referee in this one. I think he should do the unexpected and mess with Jarrett.

What Will Happen: Jarrett, the founder of TNA, will get somehow get the victory over the superior Angle.

WhatDid Happen: Foley gave Angle the Mr. Socko treatment late in the match, which allowed Jarrett the opening he needed to get the pin.

TNA Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Sting
What Should Happen: Sting in the main event? Surely TNA could have come up with someone more in Joe's league. Not that Sting hasn't been a great star, but it's time for him to step down from the top tier -- at least in TNA. In this one, Joe should win it cleanly to firmly establish himself as one of the best in the business, no questions asked.

What Will Happen: Samoa Joe will get the clean pin over Sting to retain his title.

WhatDid Happen: Kevin Nash interfered, and hit Joe with Stinger's baseball bat. Sting then got the pin and the win.

That'll do it. For the night, I had two right and four wrong. Back to the drawing board for your ageless professor! Before we go, don't forget about episode 88 of the "Old School, New School" podcast with wrestling experts Dr. Mike Lano and George Schire. Download it RIGHT HERE!

Now scram, because class is … dismissed!
