Duchovny voluntarily checked himself into rehab about five weeks ago.

"David has successfully completed his rehabilitation, he is out of rehab and will be starting a movie soon," said Duchovny's attorney, Stanton Stein.

The film and televisions star has been married to actress Tea Leoni for 11 years. They have two children.

The 48-year-old actor recently starred in the second "X-Files" movie "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" -- where he reprised his role of FBI investigator Fox Mulder from the hit television series "The X-Files," which ran from 1993-2002.

Duchovny currently stars in the cable series "Californication."

His other credits include the films "Return to Me," "Zoolander" and "Chaplin," and he's also had roles on such television shows as "Twin Peaks" and "Life with Bonnie," and a guest spot on "Sex and the City."
