2009 Pontiac G8 GXP

Quick Facts:
  • GPX boasts 402-horsepower V-8 engine.
  • Zero-to-60 time estimated at 4.7 seconds.
  • Interior features leather seats, Blaupunkt audio system and XM Satellite Radio.
  • Available in late 2008.

Pontiac introduced its new G8 as a new 2008 model, but General Motors has something new planned for the big sedan for the 2009 model year.

This fall, G8 customers will be able to choose the new G8 GXP.

At the core of the new G8 GXP is its engine. The car is powered by a beefy 6.2-liter small-block V-8 that cranks out 402 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque.

Pontiac expects all that power to launch the GXP from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

Inside the car, the focus is on the driving. The seats are highly bolstered with available two-tone leather and feature the GXP logo. There's also a 230-watt Blaupunkt audio system and XM Satellite Radio.
